We’re back. After an absolutely fantastic inaugural event last year, we’re back for another round. We had perfect 50 degree weather and a turnout of about 80 runners – we’re looking to double that this year.
“Run Rudolph Run” is a sister event to the Santa Crawl. It will provide another avenue of opportunity for folk who would like to participate in the Santa Crawl fund raising but who have not yet turned 21 or who just don’t enjoy the State College bar scene. It is open to all comers. It is a 5K Run/Walk through the streets of the borough of State College (wholeheartedly endorsed by the Borough Council I might add) the morning of the Santa Crawl. The course is an out and back route beginning and ending at the State College Municipal Building in the 200 block of Allen Street. Registration opens at 8:00 am, race start is 9 am.
We encourage “Run Rudolph Run” participants to throw themselves into the costuming part of the event with as much enthusiasm as the Santa Crawlers have. There is a distinct possibility that this could eventually grow to be even bigger than the Crawl itself.
This is a timed event (officially timing provided by Integrity Sports) with awards given for the fastest overall finisher and fastest male and female in each of the following categories.
Ages 10 and Under
Ages 11-17
Ages 18-30
Ages 31-40
Ages 41-50
Ages 51-60
Ages 60+
Runners who sign up for both “Run Rudolph Run” and the Santa Crawl will receive a $5 discount on the Santa Crawl wristbands.
The race will also provide us with an alternate vehicle for distributing wristbands. Registration for “Run Rudolph Run” is being handled by EventBrite and there is an option on their registration page to just sign up for the Santa Crawl. Keep in mind though, that should you choose that avenue, you MUST pick up your wristband at the registration table at the Municipal building the morning of the race
Proceeds from the event will be split between the Centre County Youth Services Borough Christmas Crusade and our usual partner, the Pat Boland Memorial Internship Award.
