Unfortunately, I just got last minute word that bar bleu will not be participating in the wristband pass.
They say they will be charging 100% of the participants whether they are wearing wristbands or not.
That’s certainly their prerogative, just as it is our choice about where we celebrate the Crawl. Fortunately, the Crawl has built in redundancy. I would simply encourage Crawlers to skip bar bleu and go to either of the other two bars in that time slot, right next door at the Lion’s Den or across the parking lot to the Gingerbread Man.
I’m kind of bummed because bar bleu has just become the first establishment in ten years to back out of the Santa Crawl. That’s a record that we were proud of and I’m sorry to see it come to an end.
I will quickly get over it though.
Just to compensate, I think I’m going to go to Whiskers, the bar at the Nittany Lion Inn, before the Return to Rec game. Since we have 50 Santas going to the game, I’m sure we can take over Whiskers and make a claim for it being the 18th bar on the Crawl.
You know what they say, when you are handed lemons, make lemonade. Whiskers is now my lemonade.
