We’re encouraging Santa Crawlers to pick up their wristbands before the start of the event next Saturday in order to avoid any potential lines. To facilitate that, we’ll be selling the bands at more locations, at an earlier date, and for longer hours.
Three outlets have kindly agreed to help us out: The Hotel State College, the Tavern Restaurant and Bradley’s Steaks. All three will be selling the wristbands beginning Monday.
You can pickup a wristband at the front desk of the Hotel State College any time from 8 am until 8 pm. The front desk is located above the corner room at the top of the stairs leading to the Allen Street Grill.
The Tavern Restaurant will be selling wristbands during the evening hours from 5 pm until 9 pm. Check with the cashiers at the McAllister Alley entrance to the restaurant.
Bradley’s Steaks, located on Pugh Street across from the Rathskeller will be selling wristbands during their normal business hours. Their hours of operation are 11 am to 11 pm on Mon/Tues, and 11 am to 3 am on Wed-Fri. You will also be able to pick a wristband up at Bradley’s anytime after 11 am on Saturday the day of the Crawl.
You can also order wristbands online through our sister event “Run Rudolph Run” 5K. However, if you purchase a wristband through “Run Rudolph Run”, you must pick it up at the race from the race check in desk in front of the Borough Municipal Building on Allen Street from 7:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday morning.
During the Santa Crawl, wristbands will be available at both crawl starting locations, i.e. Kildare’s and Cafe 210 – or they can be purchased at Indigo, Primanti Bros, the Tavern, or Rotelli. If you get to the start of the event and there is a considerable line, consider skipping the first spot and getting an early start at the second one, i.e. Primanti’s or Indigo.
The wristbands are $20, the same price as last year. We encourage people to pay in cash to facilitate the distribution of the wristbands, but if you want a receipt for tax purposes, please make your checks out to Penn State with a notation in the memo line that it’s for the Pat Boland Internship Award. Note, 100% of the wristband fee goes to the Boland fund, so your $20 is tax deductible.
